The Member Spotlight is intended to introduce and promote the work of one of our members to the rest of the Prevent Child Injury membership.
Featured Member: Midwest Injury Prevention Alliance
In honor of our partnership with the Midwest Injury Prevention Alliance for our webinar this month, Prevent Child Injury is putting the spotlight on this great organization.
The Midwest Injury Prevention Alliance (MIPA) is an organization of injury professionals from states in Federal Health and Human Services Region V (Illinois, Indiana, Minnesota, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin), who work collaboratively to reduce unintentional and intentional injury-related death and disability. MIPA promotes the collaboration of injury prevention planning, evaluation, education and policy strategies, training, research, and other initiatives among members of their network. The organization's overall mission is to reduce unintentional and intentional injuries. Every year, MIPA hosts an annual summit for injury professionals to share experiences and information on injury and violence topics of common interest. Prevent Child Injury is partnering with the Midwest Injury Prevention Alliance to host a webinar that will discuss the prevention of child injuries associated with furniture tip-overs. The webinar will be moderated by Nancy Cowles (Kids in Danger) and features a panel of experts in the field: Janet McGee, MBA (Parents Against Tip-Overs), William Wallace (Consumer Reports), and Jonathan Midgett, PhD (US Consumer Product Safety Commission).
