With 2021 in the books, we would like to thank our membership for another successful year of raising awareness about child safety! In the year ahead, Prevent Child Injury is excited to welcome some new changes.
Second, we are making some adjustments to the newsletter format. You'll still be getting links to important safety information, resources, and events every month, but with a slightly different look and feel.
Please send any comments or suggestions while we're transitioning to these changes and let us know if there's something you'd like to see from Prevent Child Injury in 2022.

Member Spotlight
The Member Spotlight is intended to introduce and promote the work of one of our members to the rest of the Prevent Child Injury membership.
Featured Member: Charlie’s House
In November 2007, Charlie Horn, a 2-year-old Kansas City boy, lost his life when he attempted to climb a 30′′ dresser in his home. Through this tragedy, Charlie’s House was established. The mission of Charlie’s House, to prevent injuries to children in and around the home, is fulfilled through increased safety awareness, public education, and distribution of safety devices.
In 2021, Charlie's House was opened — a Safety Demonstration Home in Kansas City, Missouri, where parents and caregivers can learn how to make their home safe. The Safety Demonstration Home features a room-by-room tour highlighting safety risks in a nursery, bedroom, bathroom, kitchen, staircase, living room, laundry area and garage. It also features a community room; a space designed for classroom education, parenting classes and safety seminars. You can explore the Safety Demonstration Home virtually here.
