Monthly Spotlight: Something to Keep Your Eye On!

Organization Spotlight: Trainees for Child Injury Prevention

Trainees for Child Injury Prevention was created in 2021 to bring together the next generation of child safety advocates. With a new cohort each year, T4CIP connects medical students, residents, and fellows to develop outreach materials and strategies for two one-day national advocacy campaigns.

The cohort spends the year learning from injury prevention and health communication experts about the ins and outs of child safety advocacy and the importance of community engagement. From social media outreach to morning reports, noon conferences, grand rounds, community clinics, and more, trainees use the Day of Action to collaborate with their peers, training programs, and institutions to share information and raise awareness.

Join T4CIP for their upcoming #RulesForTheRoad Day of Action about teen driving safety on October 23, 2024 by posting on social media, using their shareable graphics, joining the webinar from 12-1 p.m. ET, or participating in their #RulesForTheRoad X Chat from 3-4 p.m. ET. Stay connected to T4CIP by following them on XInstagram, and LinkedIn, and visiting http://bit.ly/T4CIP.

Teen Driving Toolkit

You are your child’s best role model. There is no question that parents and caregivers are important sources for creating safe teenage drivers who respect the rules of the road. With National Teen Driving Safety Week approaching, our new teen driving safety toolkit encourages parents and caregivers to keep talking to teens about safe driving, even after they get their license. The toolkit contains a press release, a newsletter/blog article, social media posts, graphics, suggested alt text, an image selection guide, a Pinterest board, a fact sheet, and links to additional resources which provide more information about teen driving safety.

The coordinated outreach week for this toolkit is October 20 - 26, 2024, which coincides with NHTSA’s National Teen Driving Safety Week. During the outreach week, Prevent Child Injury will be co-hosting a #RulesForTheRoad Webinar with Trainees for Child Injury Prevention on October 23 from 12-1 p.m. ET, click here to register: https://bit.ly/RulesForTheRoadWebinar.

Share-My-Screen Webinar Series: Accessibility

Accessibility is like the blueberries in a muffin: it’s easier to put the berries in the muffin batter than try to jam them inside the muffin once it’s baked. When you build accessibility into your communications right from the start, you can reach your audience more effectively and make your content engaging and understandable for everyone. Whether you’re new to accessibility or a seasoned pro, come learn about accessibility options for PowerPoint, Canva, and social media.
