Monthly Spotlight: Something to Keep Your Eye On!

Thank You, Kids In Danger and Nancy Cowles

As many of you know, the child safety nonprofit Kids In Danger (KID) is winding down operations at the end of this year. We want to take a moment to recognize the meaningful contributions of KID and its executive director, Nancy Cowles, to the field of injury prevention. Through dedicated advocacy and practical resources for parents and caregivers, KID has been a trusted voice in consumer product safety and will be greatly missed.

KID was founded after the Keysar family tragically lost a child due to an injury from a recalled product. From that loss, KID worked to raise awareness about product safety, advocate for stronger safety standards, and collaborate with organizations to make everyday products safer.

As executive director, Nancy Cowles has been a steadfast advocate for child safety and a valued partner to Prevent Child Injury. She has shared her expertise, supported toolkits, and collaborated on outreach efforts, strengthening our shared mission to protect children.

On behalf of Prevent Child Injury, we extend our gratitude to Nancy, the Keysar family, and everyone who has been part of KID over the years. Your work has made a lasting difference and will continue to inspire efforts to keep children safe.

Thank you, KID, and best wishes to Nancy in her next chapter. Read more in their most recent blog post.

Share-My-Screen Webinar Series: Accessibility

Accessibility is like the blueberries in a muffin: it’s easier to put the berries in the muffin batter than try to jam them inside the muffin once it’s baked. When you build accessibility into your communications right from the start, you can reach your audience more effectively and make your content engaging and understandable for everyone. Whether you’re new to accessibility or a seasoned pro, come learn about accessibility options for PowerPoint, Canva, and social media.
